ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: ACADEMIA’S FAILURE PART 2

Belgium/Belgique          Eire/Ireland          Greece/Ελλάς, Ελλάδα         Scotland/Alba

ECONOMIC  DEVELOPMENT:  ACADEMIA’S  FAILURE

AMENDMENT ONE

CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION,  OR  PROHIBITING

THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF; OR  ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH,  OR  OF THE PRESS;   OR THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE  PEACEABLY  TO ASSEMBLE,  AND TO PETITION THE GOVERNMENT  FOR  REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES.

When bodily functions,  diseases and body parts are known only by  slang words and euphemisms, when most Americans never heard or saw in print the  standard  medical word,  the FCC has done a grave disservice by forbidden words on internet and in public broadcasts. The ignorance of the American public’s  vocabulary  for words that  describe their body parts and  functions,  and now STD diseases is astonishing.  All  that most people can do is use  vulgarities  and euphemisms.  Any nation that has worldwide  businesses and  commerce must have a population that has a vocabulary that can name their body parts and know about STD without  slang  and  circumlocution.  If the people are  ignorant, then  FCC  is to blame by stopping  both Slang words, and medical words  from  being used on public airwaves  even  in  context  that is appropriate to convey ideas  of medical and social importance.

There is no practical way to stop slang and metaphor.  For the obvious reason that every  prohibition makes the metaphor, and slang change  ad infinitum.  There is an an endless loop  of  ludicrous obfuscation. This makes the law and the  enforcers look foolish. The enforcers and the law are held  in  public disrespect  and  ridicule, both agencies and their  authority because the slang and  metaphor can change faster than the  enforcers  ability to understand  word’s  new meanings. This damage to  governmental  authority  has profound  social, commercial and  educational  implications.

An  accusation can be made that not people who use popular slang and metaphor are anti- social, but the  attempt to control  language and usage is a serious  mental illness,  and that is anti-social.

Logophobia,  is the  irrational fear  of  specific words  and  phrases.  Medical  and work  related  implication comes from  a person who cannot speak, cannot talk about  work issues, medical  issues, and security problems because  they  have  fear of certain words. Their fear to use certain words and phrases is a mental illness of profound importance to society and  business .

Hysterical aphonia is the inability to talk from trauma. Logophobia alone is a problem and an  embarrassment for the person who fears the use of  certain words, but any teacher, security officer,  law enforcement or medical person who suffers from both  logophobia and aphonia is a danger to themselves and the public. When there is an medical emergency, lets say a person had a groin or breast injury. What would you think of a para-medic who said , “the person is hurt in their, -thing!  -You-know,-their-thing-a-dingy?” People in public and working situations must have adequate communication skills to do their job properly..  For example,  a Human Resource  manager or a security guard who has a panic attack and cannot  talk because they overheard or read the well-known children’s story “Winnie-the-Pooh” clearly has a problem .  They  have  associated  the word  “pooh” with  excrement . To combine that with a  panic attack just from hearing the word “pooh,” and then not  being able to speak for a security guard  is dangerous,  for a Human Resource Manager  it is  immature  incompetence. This should be  unacceptable in a business  environment, yet  situations like this happens every day. The FCC and the  communications media have  created a child like public by their  restrictions and  prohibitions of commonly used words and phrases. The FCC and some  proposed further  restrictions on the internet can cause more  confusion in business, commerce and security.  The general  ignorance  of the American people because of  restriction on “free Speech” is  appalling.  La’Hore  is a city  in  Pakistan, not a prostitute. This is not funny when a police officer or a Human Resource manager gets confused because of their ignorance about words that they are unfamiliar. This all  because  of  FCC censorship. Censorship by some schools and colleges has made a population of hyper-sensitive neurotics. The ridicule and international  embarrassment of  American  hypocritical  priggery  is notorious.
