Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and diagrams of Maslow’s

Abraham Maslow developed the Hierarchy of Needs model in 1940-50s USA, and the Hierarchy of Needs theory remains valid today for understanding human ….

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia  Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is a theory in psychology, proposed by Abraham Maslow in his 1943 paper A Theory of Human Motivation. Maslow subsequently’s_hierarchy_of_needs

With all the “good-will” the monotheistic religions express, even the insults that are thrown at Islam by some people of the same claimed progenitors, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, science,  technology and modern medicine for the most part, seems to have done more for all of humanity than religion. That is not to say that science, technology and modern medicine has not been used to kill people, regardless, as a general concept, horrific religious wars far exceed any hurt that science has done to humanity. The following should be a generally excepted truism, “A truly educated people will be a free people.” (Conversely, an ignorant and stupid people will be enslaved, whether people know that they are enslaved or not.) As an aside, but on topic, Stephen Hawking’s thoughts on science and religion is “right on the money”…Stephen Hawking: God did not create universe | SmartPlanet

I’ve heard Christians and even Muslims preach “love,”  but when “push comes to shove,” and the supposed imagined enemy is at the gates, the fist, stone and gun is the weapon of choice for many “peace-loving” religions.  Just as in the American Old South, the slave “owner” rarely taught his slaves to read or write, and then blamed them for being ignorant. And, just as many religious missionaries went into native cultures and condemned or forbid traditions, then said something like, “see they are savages with no culture.” Many government agencies, corporations, businesses and schools in the United States say that they want their employees fully educated for a job, but will not put out money to train and educate workers.  In a “laissez-faire” economy contemporary technology, science and business practices we can dump acid in the rivers, shit in the street and poison in the air, but don’t educate the people. Some conspires theorist believe that government, corporations, business and schools actually want people ignorant and stupid to a limited extent. So, as the conspiracy theory goes, the majority of humanity can be manipulated and tricked into “compliance,” and obedience as a slave to his master, or a less technologically developed culture would be to a scientifically advanced society. The idea is, not everybody can be a rocket scientist or brain surgeon, but in a scientific and technological dependent culture the population mustknow basic science for economic, financial and technological profit…Keynes Was Right

Jul 22, 2002 – Keynes Was Right. by Paul Hein. The influence of economist John  Maynard Keynes (1883–1946) is still profound in government circles.

For you reader, doesn’t that seem reasonable with enough logic to make those ideas acceptable? Abraham Maslow set out the development of hierarchy of needs. Those need can not be accomplished without an educated population and the active help of government, business and schools. All the previous comment might seem like a digression from the title of this post, …”CHRISTMAS IN EGYPT WITH THE COPTS ! ” …before the following quote as a book review and critique will serve to bring us back to the subject….(There was a problem communicating with the After the Deadline service. MacDonald, has many examples of case characterization. Professor MacDonald writes the following…

“Whole episodes seem to have been modeled after the Odyssey…” Professor MacDonald goes on to write…”I compare Jesus’ calling of fishermen to follow him with Athena’s summoning a crew; the calming of the sea transforms the tale of Aeolus’s bag of winds; the exorcism of Gerasene demoniac borrows from the stories of Circe and Polyphemus; the beheading of John the Baptist resembles the murder of Agamemnon; the multiplication of loaves and fish for five thousand men and again for four thousand men and women reflects the twin feasts in Odyssey 3 and 4, the first of which feeds four thousand five hundred men at the edge of the sea.  Jesus on water like Hermes and Athena. The Transfiguration of Jesus before Peter, James, and John is a transform of Odysseus’s transfiguration before his son, Telemachus. Odysseus’s picaresque entry into the city of the Phaeacians inspired Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. The cleansing of the Temple imitates Odysseus’s slaying of the suitors, and the agony at Gethsemane echoes Odysseus’s agony during his last night with Circe before going off to Hades…   AIOLOS (or Aeolus) was the king of the winds who kept the stormy Anemoi Thuellai the most ancient and genuine story knew only of four sons of Aeolus, viz. ….
